Cancelled until 2022 – Two Acts: The Borrowed Ones and Jemma Nicole September 25th 2021

Apologies for this. Apparently it’s not a good idea to plan a concert on the same night as the AFL final.

Two acts:

The Borrowed Ones, featuring Kathy Pike

… and Jemma Nicole

The Borrowed Ones are an acoustic/pop trio who have been playing The Hills for the past 6 years with their unique soulful sound. Kathy wrote and performed a Fringe show a few years back, backed by seven others, which was an intensely raw and beautiful performance.

The Borrowed Ones are Adelaide singer/songwriter Kathy Pike on vocals and guitar, Michael Boundy on bass guitar and Andy Dawe on lead guitar. Kathy for many years has been facilitating ‘Music on Flinders’ (at the front of Pilgrim Uniting, Adelaide) each Monday lunch time in the warmer months. Michael was a member of the popular ’90s rock group, ‘Seven Stories’.

Jemma Nicole is a young antipodean woman whose song writing is a story telling that is completely mesmerising. Jemma embraces a tunesmith style that takes its emotional cues from life’s crushing disappointments complete with sordid recollections of excesses and shame, intersected with joyous redemption delivering in song both the power and destructiveness of a double barrelled, 45 calibre handgun.

Jemma recently was the support act for brilliant Melody Pool (from the Hunter Valley) at Trinity Sessions.
